Ambassador Jalang’o and Ms. Monaco attended the annual Nolcha Fashion Week on February 10, 2011 in New York City at to promote apparel tailored by Kibera Women Center (a group from one of Nairobi’s slum areas). Plans are underway to extend the program support women in Kisumu in western Kenya. The program’s objective is to empower women through sustainable projects from micro financing provided by Care for Kenya Inc.
